Yayasan Dinamika Indonesia

This agency is a non-profit organization established with a name Yayasan Bintang Pancasila in 1970 which is actively involved in the advocacy and education of homeless children, child workers, and other displaced children. In August 1st, 1999, the foundation formally changed its name into Yayasan Dinamika Indonesia.

The collaboration between IPEC and YDI goes for 4 biennium since 1992. The collaboration is to remove children from scavenging at the final dumpsite in Bantar Gebang, Bekasi (West Java). During the collaboration over 550 children were provided with non formal children, over 60 were provided with vocational training and over 100 were provided with health services and nutritional supplement. 32 children were successfully integrated into the formal school. Awareness raising on the important of education, the children's rights was conducted through home visit, guidance, counseling, leaflet, bulletin and meetings. YDI also succeeded to establish a good network with other parties which support the success of the action programs. Those parties are the local responsible authority (Dinas Kebersihan), Ministry of Education and Culture, Municipally Government of Jakarta and University.

During the collaboration with IPEC, YDI is noticed to have built up an excellent reputation for their work with the scavenger at the dumpsite.
